You can change the name of the application server here. You can also select the operating system type from the drop-down menu.  The list is not version specific. The type selected determines the kind of SCSI responses that we send to the application server when certain failures happen.

In the Type box, select the operating system of the application server from the list. For HPUX application servers, there are two options:

    • For HP HBAs, select HP HPUX.

    • For Emulex HBAs, select HP HPUX 8 LUNS.

If your operating system is not listed, select Other.

  1. Click on the Channels tab, and you will see a window similar to this one:

When an application server is created, the Assigned Channels list is empty. After channels are assigned to application servers, right-click a channel, and you can rename, remove , or or replace a channel here.

  1. Select channels from the Available Channels list and click the green arrow to add them to the application server.

  2. Click OK when you are finished adding channels.

After channels are assigned, go to Mapping Virtual Volumes to Application Servers.
