Add or Remove iSCSI Targets Using iSCSI Manager

All iSCSI initiators must discover the target portals in order to establish iSCSI connections.

On storage servers, target portals can be added using the iSCSI Manager tool in SANmelody software. This topic provides the steps to add target portals to iSCSI initiators on storage servers.

To add target portals:
  1. Open iSCSI Manager.

  2. In the console tree, select the MS iSCSI Initiator (default) component and choose Add/Remove Targets in the shortcut menu.

  3. In the Target Portals box, click Add.

  4. In the Add Target Portal box, enter the IP address or DNS name for the target portal and click OK.

  5. Repeat the steps above to add additional target portals.

  6. Click OK to close the Target Portals box when finished.

To remove target portals:
  1. Open iSCSI Manager.
  2. In the console tree, select the MS iSCSI Initiator (default) component and choose Add/Remove Targets in the shortcut menu.

  3. In the Target Portals box, select the target to remove in the list and click Remove.

  4. Click OK to close the box.
