Automatically Sending Default Markers

Use these instructions to send the special reserved marker, “AimMarker.” This marker can be sent automatically at specified intervals.

Before sending markers, the associated activity (event or executable file) to be performed on the destination system for the default marker must be defined in AIM Destination Manager, refer to Defining Marker Actions.

To send a default marker automatically:

  1. Open AIM Source Manager.

  2. In the left pane, select AIM Source Volumes.

  3. In the right pane, select the AIM set, and choose Properties from the context menu.

  4. In the Automatic Setting area, select Default Marker from the Type pull-down menu.

  5. Enter the Start Time (hh:mm) in 24 hour format.

  6. Select the Interval (hr) from the pull-down menu. The interval represents the number of hours between each custom marker being sent.

  7. Click OK to apply your configuration changes.

A message appears in the Source Log file when the user-defined marker request has been successfully issued.
