Automatically Enabling Snapshots

To generate an automated series of AIM requests (markers) from the Source system to enable Snapshot relationships and create snapshots of a Destination volume, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to AIM Source Manager.

  2. In the left pane, select AIM Source Volumes.

  3. In the right pane, right-click on the AIM set, and select Properties.

  4. In the Automatic Setting area, select Snapshot from the Type pull-down menu.

  5. Enter the Start Time (hh:mm) in 24 hour format.

  6. Select the Interval (hr) from the pull-down menu. The interval represents the number of hours between each Snapshot.

  7. Click OK.

A message appears in the Source Log file when the snapshot request has been successfully issued.
