Changing Mappings/LUNs for Virtual Volumes

After virtual volumes are mapped to application servers, the existing application server mappings or LUNs can be changed in the Mapping Properties dialog box.

If multiple mappings of a virtual volume cannot be assigned the same LUN due to previous LUN assignments, LUNs can be manually changed in this box. Refer to LUN Numbering Consistency for more information.

NOTE:  The channel and LUN selectors on the Mapping Properties dialog box are disabled for mirror mappings. They cannot be changed.

To access this dialog box:

  1. Open Virtual Volume Properties and click on the Mapping tab.

  2. Select the channel to change in the Initiator column to enable the Mapping Properties.

  3. Click Mapping Properties to open the dialog box.

  4. Make the necessary changes to the initiator and target channels, or LUNs.
NOTE: If –1 is displayed in the box and grayed out, the LUN will be assigned after an Apply. The only case where a LUN is listed as unassigned is if the system cannot find a channel to create a path between the two machines involved.

  5. Access rights can also be changed in that area, but be aware that some application servers cannot use a virtual volume with Read-only access.

  6. Click OK to close the box.

  7. Apply the configuration changes.
