Creating NMVs from Pools

Network Managed Volumes (NMVs) created from pools can be created singly or in multiples using the following methods.

These instructions are performed locally; if you have two storage servers in your configuration follow these steps on both servers.

Add Another Network Managed Volume – Use this option to quickly create single volume.

1. Open the Disk Manager snap-in, click NMV Pools.

2. In the right pane, right-click the pool and choose Add Another Network Managed Volume.

3. Apply the configuration.

Add Multiple Network Managed Volumes – Use this option to create one or more volumes.

1. Open the Disk Manager snap-in, click NMV Pools.

2. In the right pane, right-click a pool and choose Add Multiple Network Managed Volumes.

3. In the dialog box, enter the number of managed volumes to add.

4. Click OK.

5. Apply the configuration.
