Removing Disks from a Pool

You can delete the assigned physical disks in NMV pools if desired. The disks to delete cannot have storage units allocated, so you will have to delete the virtual volumes and then the volumes which were created from the disk. Refer to Deleting Virtual Volumes and Deleting NMVs for instructions on removing NMVs, if necessary.

Follow these steps to delete disks from an NMV pool:

  1. In the NMV Pools component, select the pool that the disk is assigned to in the upper right pane.

  2. In the lower right pane, select the disk to remove and choose Remove from Pool. (If the disk has allocated storage units on it, then Remove from Pool is disabled.)

  3. Click OK.

You have now removed the assigned physical disk from the pool.  Once the removal process is complete,  the raw disks will not re-appear in the pool.
