Channels Tab-Storage Server Properties

The Channels tab provides information about the channels of the storage server. For each SCSI channel listed in the tab, alias, port name, mode, and number of mapping are displayed to the right.

Select a channel in the SCSI channel list to view additional information in the box underneath; such as alias, type, vendor ID, product ID, firmware version, slot number, target and initiator load.

To delete, rename, or replace a channel, select the channel in the list and choose the operation from the context menu provided.

When you highlight an iSCSI channel, you will see an iSCSI Info button, which provides information about iSCSI channels, including port name, device name, and device alias.

The Mode can be I for initiator or T for target or I/T for initiator/target. An asterisk (*) next to the mode indicates that channel target mode is disabled. If there is no asterisk it indicates that the channel’s target mode is enabled. You cannot change this mode except through making virtual volume mappings.

You can also delete an offline channel (X) by right-clicking the channel and selecting Delete. You must first go to Fibre Channel Manager and select Clean up port database on every channel that has a reference to the offline channel. Refer to Deleting an Offline Channel.
