Exceeding License Storage Limit
If you add a disk which causes you to exceed your license limit and you do not choose to increase the storage capacity on your license:
-
In the Storage Server snap-in, right-click the storage server, and select Release All Volumes. This causes the storage server to release control of unused volumes.
-
Remove any raw disks from pools (see Removing Disks from NMV Pools).
-
In Windows Disk Management, remove partitions from the volumes so that SANmelody software cannot access them. When disks are unallocated, they are not available as SANmelody storage.
-
In the Storage Server snap-in, right-click the storage server, and select Protect All Volumes.
