Performance Monitoring

Performance-related counters can be tracked in real-time using Windows Performance Monitor (PerfMon). The performance data is acquired using the Windows Performance Data mechanism and error events post to the Event Log. Windows Performance Monitor can be accessed by entering perfmon on a command line or in Windows Server 2008, from the Computer Management>System Tools>Reliability and Performance>Monitoring Tools.

Some objects may not appear in Windows Performance Monitor if they are not installed, not licensed, or not configured. For a complete list of DataCore Performance Objects for use with Windows Performance Monitor, refer to DataCore Performance Objects.

To add DataCore performance objects and counters to use with Performance Monitor:
  1. From the main Performance Monitor window, click the “+” button in the toolbar to open the Add Counters dialog box.
