AIM Source Manager
AIM Source Manager is the graphical user interface (GUI) that allows you to configure AIM sets and groups and perform and monitor AIM operations. AIM Source Manager is capable of providing information in four different views. For a summary of the information available in all views, refer to Viewing AIM Source Manager Status. Refer to Getting Started with AIM for more information.
Source Status View
Following is the default column information (referred to as Source Status) displayed in AIM Source Manager when the AIM Source Volumes component is selected in the left pane.

Src Volume |
Name of the virtual volume configured in the AIM Source Volumes component of this tool as the source of the AIM set. |
Dest Volume |
Name of the virtual volume configured in AIM Source Manager as the destination of the AIM set. |
Dest Server |
Name of the storage server configured as the destination system for the AIM set. |
Group ID |
Name of the AIM group configured in the AIM Source Volumes component of this tool, if applicable. |
AIM State |
Current state of the AIM set. Refer to AIM States for more information. |
Src Data |
Amount of data (in MB) stored in the ‘outgoing’ folder for the volume awaiting transfer. Folders are located in the source buffer directory. |
Time Latency |
Time difference between the earliest remaining AIM Source buffer file creation time and the current time ( hh:mm: ss). |
Transfer Rate |
An instantaneous measurement of the speed (in KB/sec) that data is being transferred currently. |
Destination Status View
Following is the default column information (referred to as Destination Status) displayed in AIM Source Manager when the AIM Destination Servers component is selected in the left pane.

Destination Name |
Name of the storage server configured as the destination system for the AIM set. |
IP Address |
The IP address of the destination system as configured in AIM Source Manager. |
Transfer Mode |
Mode used for data transfer; either FTP or SMB. Refer to Data Transfer Modes for more information. |
Link Status |
The link is Up or Down. Refer to Manually Testing the Link. |

The commands or functions performed in the AIM Source Manager are listed below. The menu items available on the Action menu are depend on your selection in the window. (These same menu items are available from context menus.) Refer to any associated topics for additional information.

Opens the Settings dialog box, used to change configuration settings such as AIM file size, source buffer name and location, source data refresh rate, and destination link test rate. Refer to AIM Configuration Settings. |
View Source Logfile |
Open the AIM Source Log file, a log of activity as seen by the source. Refer to Viewing the Source Log File. |
AIM Source Volumes component selected in console tree (only provided by context menu) | |
Configure AIM Group |
Opens the dialog box where groups can be created and source volumes can be selected as group members. Refer to Creating an AIM Group. |
New>New AIM Source Volume |
Opens the dialog box where virtual volumes can be selected as AIM Source Volume candidates. Refer to Creating an AIM Set. |
New>New AIM Set |
Opens the dialog box, used to match source and destination volumes as sets. Refer to Creating an AIM Set. |
View |
Provides different views of the information in the right pane of AIM Source Manager. Views include: All View, Configuration View, Source Status View, and Destination Status View. Refer to Viewing AIM Source Manager Status. |
