Physical Disks
The Physical Disks component in Disk Manager provides information on all physical storage devices presented to the system that are not managed by the storage server.
The table below explains the information displayed:

Description |
Disk Number |
Identifies the disk number (as found in Windows Disk Management (LDM)). |
Size |
Size of the disk in megabytes. |
Property |
Identifies the role of the individual storage device on the storage server. Available properties include: Boot Disk – The boot disk of the storage server. Standard – An initialized disk with partitions, recognized by, but not protected by SANmelody software. StandardManaged – An initialized disk with partitions, protected by SANmelody software. StandardRawDisk – An initialized, unallocated, non-partitioned raw disk, recognized by SANmelody software. NMV PoolDiskHidden – A disk in an NMV pool. SDS Mirror– A mirror disk presented to from the partner storage server. AimDisk – AIM loopback disk. Hidden – A volume that is unreadable in Windows Disk Management. Any disk not preformatted with Windows data will be automatically hidden when discovered by Disk Manager. |
Disk Cache |
R,W – Read/Write mode, reads and writes are cached. R – Read Only mode, writes are not cached. |
Vendor ID |
Identifies the manufacturer of the storage device. |
Product ID |
Identifies the model number (brand specific) and/or the drive configuration ( e.g, RAID) of each device. |
Revision ID |
SCSI disk revision ID. |
Serial Number |
Serial number of the specific storage device. |
Address |
Location of the disk, in order: Port number, path ID, target ID, LUN |
V. Name |
SANmelody volume identifier. |
