Fibre-Channel Manager
Fibre-Channel Manager assists you in configuring, diagnosing, monitoring, and troubleshooting the Fibre Channel ports in the SAN configuration. Fibre Channel Manager displays the HBAs in the storage server and allows you to perform basic configuration functions over the Fibre Channel connection.
Below is a view of Fibre-Channel Manager tool with a channel selected in the left pane of the console tree; information pertaining to all other Fibre Channel ports visible to the selected port is displayed in the right pane. This information, referred to as the Fibre Channel Port Database, may be helpful in troubleshooting.

Column Information
As with most SANmelody GUIs, what you select in one pane, determines what information displays in other panes. The following tables contain descriptions of column information displayed in the right panes when elements are selected in the left panes. Review any referenced topics for additional information.

If you highlight a port underneath Fibre-Channel folder, the information displayed in the right pane pertains to all other Fibre Channel ports visible to the storage server port selected in the left pane. This information may be helpful in troubleshooting the Fibre Channel components. This list is called the Fibre-Channel Port Database.
The table below explains the information about all other Fibre Channel ports visible to the HBA selected in the left pane. Review any referenced topics for additional information.

Context Menu Items

Show Alias – Channels are displayed using alias names. Show World Wide Names – Channels are displayed using world wide names. |

Initiate LIP/Link Reset – Resets the link and causes a full re-login to all ports. Reinitialize Port – This performs a full port re-initialization: may reload firmware, reinitializes hardware, resets the link, and logs in to all ports. Clean Up Port Database – Removes all “not present”/”not logged in” ports from the Fibre Channel Port Database. Show Link Statistics – Displays various low-level Fibre Channel error counters which can aid in troubleshooting hardware-related issues. Link Statistics are available for both storage server ports, as well as any other remote ports currently logged in. Properties, see Fibre Channel Properties. |
