iSCSI Manager Advanced Tab
Do not change the default settings in the Advanced tab without contacting Technical Support for guidance.
Disable Port While Stopped: Certain application server operating systems (such as VMware and Linux) running alternate path software require that the Disable Port While Stopped setting be enabled in order to allow failover, thus properly handling path failures. This property is valid only when the port is set to “Target-only” mode. When enabled (the default setting), the iSCSI channel will be offlined and not accept iSCSI connections from iSCSI application servers when the SANmelody storage server is not running.
When this property is enabled and the SANmelody storage server is stopped, the iSCSI channels are displayed in the iSCSI Manager with a red X and the state is “Port Not Started” until the storage server is started again. This is expected.
