iSCSI Manager Basic Tab
The iSCSI Manager Basic tab displays basic configuration parameters including SCSI mode. This tab allows changing the following properties: SCSI mode, node alias name, portal group tag, TCP port number, and the maximum number of outstanding initiator and target commands. After making changes to this tab, click OK to finalize your changes.
CAUTION: By default, the maximum number of iSCSI initiator connections allowed at any one time to an iSCSI target is 16. For example, if there are more than eight application servers each have two iSCSI connections, the first eight application servers will connect to targets and the others will be refused.
Be aware that there is a fixed limit of 256 Outstanding Target I/Os for all iSCSI targets. For example, using the maximum default of 16 connections, a total of 16 outstanding target I/Os will be the maximum allowed for the iSCSI target. If the default maximum number of initiators is increased, the maximum number of possible outstanding I/Os per storage server target will decrease.
WARNING: Do not alter settings unless you are aware of the affect the changes could have on performance.
