Storage Server Snap-in

The Storage Server snap-in displays information about the local storage server. The right panes are split horizontally. The top pane displays basic information about the local storage server and SANmelody software. The lower pane displays volume information. Details for provided below.

Note: If this storage server is in a partnership and is currently offline, the upper pane will be blank. When the storage server is online again, refresh the pane to reflect the correct status.

The Storage Server panes provide information about the volumes associated with the storage server:

Columns – Upper Pane

 

Name

Name of the local storage server.

Serial number

Serial number for the storage server. (Also referred to as the WWN of the storage server.)

Version

Version of SANmelody software installed on the storage server.

Partner

This column presents partner information when running two storage servers in your configuration.

Columns – Lower Pane

Volume Status. Red X = offline; ! = requires attention; ? = unknown status.

Volume Name

Name of volume discovered on this storage server.

Logical Size (MB)

Size of the physical or virtual volume in megabytes.

Disk #

Hard disk number assigned by Windows Disk Management.

Volume ID

DataCore symbolic volume identifier.

Type

Volume type: nmv, basicw2k (partition-based basic volume), dynamicw2k (partition-based dynamic volume), wholedisk (Windows file system volume that has been protected).

Mirror

Primary or Secondary.

Status

 

The status of local volumes.

Possible status:

N/A, Offline, Up, Local Down, Recovering Local, Recovering Mirror, Recovering Full Local, Recover Full Local, Recover Full Mirror, Out of Sync

Right-click volume in lower pane

Delete – deletes the volume. The volume cannot be a member of a virtual volume and must be unmapped.
