Toolbar
The buttons on the toolbar change depending on which snap-in is active.

Description |

Indicates that the storage software is stopped. Click it to start. See Start/Stop Virtualization |

Apply: Active when an apply is necessary and grayed out after the apply. See Applying the Configuration. |

Enable/Disable ERD: Enable ERD prompts you to make an emergency repair disk (ERD) when you apply. Disable allows you to apply without getting this prompt. See Creating an Emergency Repair Disk (ERD). |

Opens the Help. This button is context sensitive when a snap-in is selected in the console tree. |

Refresh: Use to refresh the SANmelody interface. |

Toggle between Read Only and Read/Write. See Read + Write/Read Only Switch. |

Create new application server. See Adding Application Servers to the SAN. |

Map new virtual volume. See Mapping Virtual Volumes to Application Servers. |

Create new pool. See Creating NMV Pools and Adding Disks. |

To start and stop the storage server software:
Start the storage software by selecting the Start icon on the toolbar. No actions are available until you do this. Start/Stop status appears in the status bar.
Stop the storage software by highlighting a storage server in the right pane and selecting Stop from the right-click menu.
